Ge Fanuc News, GE Fanuc LTD, Fanuc uk support GE Fanuc Parts - Fanuc Repairs - Fanuc Servo Drive - Fanuc Monitors - Used Fanuc - Fanuc Encoders FANUC rolls out consolidated FANUC UK support framework Factory automation business FANUC has consolidated its UK support operations to provide a clearer route for product sales and after sales support. FANUC will now provide a central customer contact point for its three UK core businesses, FANUC FA, FANUC Robotics and FANUC Robomachine The new structure follows on from the announcement, last October, that FANUC Luxembourg headquarter operations would amalgamate to 'project a strong corporate image Europe-wide'. The FANUC UK Team will bring clarity of its extensive automation product range to its customer base and the UK market in general. Sharing the common controller platform the three FANUC UK businesses already have many examples where their respective products are working together with inherent benefits of straight-forward communications and renowned FANUC reliability. At the MACH 2012 exhibition in April this year the three companies will exhibit together, for the first time, showing the complete range and capability of FANUC CNC UK controllers and drives, robot machine tool loading, EDM, plastic injection moulding, Fanuc spares and drilling machine centres will all feature together with illustrations of the extensive support packages available for FANUC customers. FANUC LTD is a world leading manufacturer of Factory Automation (FA), robots and Robomachines. Since its inception in 1956, FANUC has contributed to the automation of machine tools as a pioneer in the development of computer numerical control equipment. FANUC technology has contributed to a worldwide manufacturing revolution, which evolved from the automation of a single piece of machinery to the automation of entire production lines. FANUC employs 4,900 people world-wide. Based at the foot of Mt Fuji near Lake Yamanaka FANUC's factory uses over 1000 FANUC robots to support the production of over 24,000 robots per annum. The total number of robots shipped by Fanuc distributors is in excess of 250,000 units. GE and FANUC Ltd. Are to dissolve their joint venture, GE Fanuc Automation Corp., which was set up in 1986 and provides of hardware and software used in automation and embedded computing as well as computer numerical controlled (CNC) machine tools. GE Fanuc grew to become a leading supplier of industrial technologies including automation hardware and software, embedded computer systems and CNC products Under the terms of agreement GE will be keeping the global software, services, embedded systems and control systems. They will be known as GE Intelligent Platforms. Fanuc will keep all CNC business. The transaction is to be completed by the end of 2009, subject to closing conditions Established in 1986 by the joint investments of GE and FANUC, GE Fanuc Automation Corporation grew to become a leading high-performance technology company that serves a vast array of industries around the world including the energy, water, consumer packaged goods, government & defense, and telecommunications industries. The partnership delivers hardware and software solutions, services, automation and embedded computing systems; as well as industry-leading CNC products. FANUC Honorary Chairman Dr. Seiuemon Inaba said, "Our joint venture has achieved great success toward its original mission, which was to cooperate on the global growth and technical development of the PLC and CNC business. Over this time period, markets and opportunities also have changed dramatically, and both companies further expanded into adjacent segments. Today's market conditions are such that it's imperative we pursue these expanded opportunities, and while we have achieved great things together, it's in both our best interests that we focus our efforts on industry opportunities unique to our respective companies and that will deliver greater benefits to both our companies." GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms CEO Maryrose Sylvester said, "GE could not have asked for better partners than Dr. Inaba and FANUC. GE is proud of what our companies have achieved together – both the industry expertise and success across our product portfolios. For GE, this change will mean a continued, intense focus on serving our customers around the world while continuing to invest in significant growth platforms like process control systems, enterprise and automation software and embedded computing as we continue to build further expertise around the GE vertical infrastructure segments." Under the terms of the agreement: FANUC UK offers Rechargeable Battery Unit Kits for long-term backup power for CNC machines and eliminates the use of disposable batteries. FANUC's Rechargeable Battery Unit also eliminates scrap parts due to loss of machine position. The Rechargeable Battery Unit enables one CNC system to be connected from a power source to the servo amplifiers. It holds a rechargeable battery and charging circuit that supplies backup power to fanuc absolute pulsecoders and separate type detector units. The charging circuit monitors the voltage of the rechargeable battery, and it charges the battery when the voltage becomes low. Because the charging circuit works only when it is necessary, the rechargeable battery can be used for a long period of time, the company says. The life span of the unit is more than 10 years, it adds. The kit includes all the necessary cables for one CNC system to be connected from a power source to the servo amplifiers and a connection manual. This kit is designed to be installed with Fanuc Alpha, Alpha i or Beta i Servo Amplifiers and separate type detectors.
